The aim of the events is to promote STEM disciplines and careers in engineering and to actively involve participants in the problem-solving processes and technologies in engineering fields.
The Foundation's events are aimed at primary and secondary school students as well as students in higher education.
The student competitions provide thematic exercises to introduce participants to the different fields and the state-of-the-art solutions and processes involved.

Competitions:
Teams registering for the programmes typically have to process information, complete tests, skills and assembly tasks related to a technical area through interactive activities.
Duration of the event 4-6 hours.
Factory X competition
Competing teams are presented with a complex problem "highlighted" from a real industrial environment, which they have to solve, process, analyse, design, manufacture and present to the customer during the programme.
For these events, the Foundation focuses on developing the skills, abilities and competences of participants through a practical and real-life programme.
Duration of the event 3-4 months.
Events are usually subject-specific, tailored to the needs and knowledge level of the target group addressed by the programme.
